With point measurement, the sensor only measures a single point within its field of view. With ROI measurement, the sensor measures a specific region within its field of view instead of just a single point. This can be useful if you need to cover a larger area or if the target is moving. So the choice between a point measurement and an ROI measurement depends largely on what you want to measure and what your accuracy and coverage requirements are.
